In 1987, Congress passed the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Improvement Act. It is the gold standard of performance excellence in the U.S.

Baldrige addresses the critical aspects of managing and performing as an organization. The simple purpose is to promote a systems perspective to integrate all the components of your organization as a unified whole.


The Performance Excellence Framework was not ‘invented’. Rather, it is the result of research and practice that looked at decades of best practices across the globe. They compiled the best of the best and synthesized it into the most practical and simple form possible.


Other countries adopted their own models of excellence and nearly “100 countries have similar models and award programs, all based on the Baldrige Framework.” Most notably, Europe has the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).


Small businesses depend on Visionary Leadership to achieve their Ultimate Business Outcome in an environment where a staggering 50% of businesses fail after five years. In order to be successful in the long term, leaders must leverage their people to get results.
